Brain Blackout
- by Tsewang D
When my mind is blank like an empty room,
Confused and dazed - Oh, what to do!?
With a question mark before my eyes,
I’m a few tears short from an explosive cry
They say there’s a path I have to follow
They say that a will is what I have to grow?
But the images replayed in my vain attempt,
Are too blurred and scribbled, leaving me in contempt
I look around in hopes to discover hidden clues,
Or listen to the whispers to rid myself from these blues
And after pondering and wondering, for what seems like ages
Alas, comes the moment where I recall all the pages!!
I scribble down the words as fast as “Tsewang-ly” possible,
But with only seconds now left,
I’m to leave my paper feeling horrible
Then the time finally comes as our papers are given back,
Ridiculous ranks in redundant Red
To remind us of the knowledge we lack
No word explains my anger within,
I’ve tried and failed too many times
I can’t describe my hate of these stupid tests
So for now, I’ll just stick to these angry rhymes
Is this not a brain blackout?
Or what?
January in Review by Kalsang
In January, Newcomer Youth Program ran
successfully with the services provided to youth clients through assistance
& referrals on settlement issues including the weekly programs on language
and tutoring. The highlight of the month was the launch of STOM-R project
website and publication of their movie reviews written by team members of STOM
R project.
